  • Mixed colours, each bulb a surprise
  • Large trumpet flowers on strong stems
  • Flowers indoors from December to February
  • About 45–55 cm tall
  • 5 bulbs for several rooms or as gifts

This mix brings together amaryllis in different colours, ideal for anyone who enjoys a surprise. Each bulb produces large, trumpet-shaped flowers on strong stems. With five bulbs you can decorate several rooms or give individual pots to family and friends.

About this variety

Amaryllis are among the most impressive bulb flowers for the home. A hollow, strong stalk grows from a large bulb, and several large trumpet flowers open at its tip. This mix contains different colours, so every plant looks a little different. That is exactly what makes it appealing as you watch the buds every day.

At about 45–55 cm tall, the plants fit on any bright windowsill. Group several pots together for a colourful, cheerful picture. On their own they look good on the dining table or a side table. Moss on the soil, a simple cover pot and a few branches are all the decoration you need.

As cut flowers, amaryllis last a long time in the vase if you support the hollow stem with a stick and change the water regularly. They have no noticeable scent. Planted in batches, the mix flowers from December to February. And if you particularly like one colour, you can keep caring for that very bulb for years.

Planting

Pot the bulbs between October and January in pots that leave only two to three centimetres of space all round. A third to half of the bulb sits above the soil. Water well once, then keep it on the dry side until the bud appears. Place the pots somewhere bright and warm, at about 20 °C.

Care

Turn the pots regularly so the stalks grow straight. After flowering, remove only the stalk, keep watering the foliage and feed every two weeks. From August the bulbs need a dry rest period in a cool place so that they flower again. The plant is toxic and should be kept out of reach of children and pets.
